Can you imagine still posting ‘dumps’ at the end of every month? LOL, what a poser. Here is my comprehensive digest instead:
This month, I have been mostly eating doner meat, and feeling the nights get colder and earlier.

Music discoveries:

Mom Jeans
I’ve been giving Mom Jeans another chance after shying away from their music last year. Now I have to hand it to them. It feels like I’m just listening to a huge group of people scream and mess around. I think the lack of seriousness is what contributes to the beauty of their music.

Jim E. Brown
Why do we call Mom Jeans emo and not Jim E. Brown? They are both equally whiny and self-deprecating. Although Jimmy is much more poetic and theatrical.
I was gonna see him tonight, but I’m not paying £19 to see that shit. I’ll catch you next time, Mr Brown.

Dana and Alden
Quiet Music for Young People – It’s so nice to see music made for my demographic that is also quiet, isn’t it.
You might recognise ‘Dragonfly’ from hopecore memes. I feel sorry for the album that this is the real young people’s association with it. Well, listen to it, and you will feel hopeful too.
Music from me:

Telly that I’ve eaten:
Severance
I watched Severance. You’ve probably heard about it, as I had, but after finishing it yesterday, I am impacted. Not in a way that will educate me or change my life, but in an emotional sense, because it was just so fun to be in that world. I like Science fiction, which this is, if you ask me, despite being listed a thriller. I am also thrilled, so that label isn’t wrong. Here are some positives:
- I think this show is just some good thrills for ALL audiences
- The story is rich and full of good questions, and the answers are really satisfying.
Here are the negatives:
- There’s probably going to be about 10 seasons of this thing, which I think is unnecessary. But at least I’ll get to be in the universe again.
Places to go despite cold
Pubs
Pubs are warm and full of atmosphere. So get yourself in one, and buy a drink whether it’s a J2O or a Henry Westons. They don’t always have to be places to get lathered, you can simply sip at a single drink that matches your budget.

Shout out to *redacted for anonymity* for being a nice place to sit and be warm. It’s a nice change from *redacted for anonymity* where we all sit outside. Make the quiz easier though.
Telly
Don’t be ashamed you’re not doing free-spirited spontaneous activities like playing Backgammon in the park under the sun. Find comfort in hibernation.
Low altitude
I mean, seriously, what are you meant to do with this time of year? Very little people can really front curling up in artisan cafes with hot chocolate that costs more than 6 800ml bottles of flavoured water.

So I give you the quest of finding the lowest altitude you can in your city, town or wherever. Is it warm? Let me know. You’ll have fun and get warm finding out. The image depicts me and my friend *redacted for anonymity* at quite a high altitude actually, and it was freezing.
Objective for December:
Here’s an idea I read somewhere a while ago, so I can’t take credit for it.
Start a one sentence journal
ANYONE can do this. Journaling is a great thing when you’ve actually got time and motivation. Who tf has that? So start a one-sentence journal. These are the materials:
- Pen
- Paper (ideally sequenced in book) / phone (with text editor)
- A date
- A sentence
The process is simple. Every day, write a sentence. Then you’re done. Miss a day? Write two sentences. Miss a week? Just write seven. The workload is beautifully little for something that could be extraordinary. I have no idea though I’ve not tried it.
If you try this or have anything else to say, please let me know by commenting or contact me down below.
